week 10 term 3 reading

this blog post Is going to be all about my reading create tasks for this week, so this is the subject of reading so I am going to show you some reading create tasks.

so you can access the reading create tasks on the reading slides and there is some things we have to go through first, so there is a WALT which means what we are learning today and the WALT for the week was WALT relate ideas to own experiences and wider world. so this week we have been doing some reading.

so we had to choose a book for the week as your journal article that you have chosen of your choice, so I had to choose a book too but I choose something about the environment and it was actually a good book to read all about it and I also will explain in a bit later in the post.

so we had to do 3 create tasks by the end of the week and ALSO BLOGGED!! and I am blogging all 3 of my create tasks here on my blog now.

so we had to explain the 3 boxes also called as the scaffolding text, the commentary text and the challenge text so I had to explain it down below of the the scaffolding text, the commentary text and the challenge text so see below of what it is about.

SCAFFOLDING TEXT DESCRIPTION: the scaffolding text description was basically about the daylight streams about them explaining of what it was about.

COMMENTARY TEXT DESCRIPTION: it was showing the before of the dry land of nelson and the after where Nelson got flooded in the video and had a person rescuing people from the flood.

THE CHALLENGE TEXT DESCRIPTION: it was an article about the daylight streams.

so these are the book choices below that we picked and after that I will tell you the book I have chosen and explain what the story is about.

so the book choices where:

unwanted visitors, estuaries,daylighting streams,protecting the waterways,our gifted garden,up the pipe.

the book I had chosen was daylighting streams and it was a good book to read and I rate it a 9 and a half out of 10 rate for this book for the the scaffolding text, the commentary text and the challenge text, so it was a good book to read though.

now I will show you my create tasks now (see below)

ok now for create task 1, so you had to make a copy of a Google drawing of a flow chart and I had to fill out the flowchart out of the 6 empty boxes and I had to embed it after on my blog so right now I am blogging it and I will show you it. (see below)

this create task was a bit hard but I tried my best and the reason it was hard to find the facts was because it was hard to find some in the book.

 

now for create task 2, so now you had to choose one of these:

and i choose to do create and then I had to choose a DLO which means digital learning object and we can choose one of these DLO’s so we had a option to Canva,Animaker,storyboard that,Popplet and book creator.

so I choose to do Canva so Canva is a app that you can use to create videos,infographics,posters and more so you can use it for school and you can use it for personal use so I created a Canva video of create and here is my Canva video of the create task 2 and I am up to blogging create task 2.

I liked this task because it is easy to do with the environment.

Create task 3:

ok, now for create task 3, so you had to choose one of these options of what can we do for create task 3 and 2 but I am blogging my create task 3 on this one.

so we can choose one of these except for evaluate because it just says evaluate and then it is blank so we can not do it so instead we had to choose something different so I choose to do questioning and these were the options.

and that was the instructions up there for the questioning so next we had to choose a DLO of my choice and then I choose to use Canva so let me explain what Canva is.

so Canva is a app that you can create videos, posters, infographics and many more you can and you can also use it for school or you can use it for your personal use and it is a fun app you can download and embed and you can put it on other things.

ok now for my create task explaining.

so I choose to use a Canva video and I had to do at least 3 questions and the answer had to be in full sentences so here is my work.

I liked this create task because it was easy to do it.

 

week 10 term 3 writing

This blog post is going to be all about my writing work which is a Canva video about a life cycle of a butterfly.so today I am doing a topic about the life cycle of a butterfly and it was all about explanation writing.so we had to start with a plan then go on a new Google doc and then we had to create a Canva video about the 4 different stages about the life cycle of a butterfly.

so it took me a lot of time to do this so now I am up to blogging this video here on my blog now.and also some facts here that you know that butterfly’s are all the colours of the rainbow? and also I have put in the recording of the video of reading out the sentence of what it said that was on each of the slides and I also read out the title and the intro of the video.

also I have read out the conclusion and it was also pretty fun of making something about explanation writing like the life cycle of the butterfly, so we used a Canva video, so Canva is an app you can create videos,posters,presentations and infographic and many more!

so you can use this app for many things like you can use it for school which is for your learning and other things like a personal app that you can use to make things you want in  your own time.

so my video is an expansion writing of a life cycle of a butterfly and it is the video of my Google doc writing but a bit different because I have summarized my own writing into a video on Canva.

so now I am going to explain to you the Cornell note taking and the other things before I did the video.

so the Cornell note taking is a sheet that we used on a Google doc that we had to make a copy of that and we had to do the stages of the butterfly’s life cycle so we firstly started with the egg stage and then we had to take some notes of what had happened in each of those stages but not in sentences of what we are going to write because this is a plan not the actual writing.

so here is my Cornell note taking sheet on the Google docs.

so this is my plan (the Cornell not taking) it has the introduction and the conclusion in it.

 

ok now it is time for me to show you my writing so it is on a Google doc and it is my full expatiation writing so here is my explanation writing.

 

now this is my Canva video of the life cycle of the butterfly and it has recording on every page so you can look through it too.

but before we show you my create task you need to go through some things first.

there is always a WALT which means what we are learning today so the WALT for the week was:

WALT relate ideas to own experiences and wider world 

this week we have some books choices that are all environmental so the books were:

protecting the waterways

our gifted garden

the book I choose was unwanted visitors and It was about people entering New Zealand from different countries like either going on holiday or returning from their holidays.

SCAFFOLDING TEXT DESCRIPTION: about a women talking about entering New Zealand and checking their luggages

COMMENTARY TEXT DESCRIPTION: biosecurity protecting things and about dogs checking and inspecting peoples lugges.

CHALLENGE TEXT DESCRIPTION: an article about biosecurity

 

Create tasks:

create task 1:

you had to make a copy of a flow chart of your article and fill out 6 different facts on there and they are like boxes like they have arrows that tell you the order of how the facts go in order so here is my work.

I liked this task because it was like a fact file.

so I choose to do questioning and I had to present it on a DLO and I choose to use a Canva video so here is my work.

I liked this task because it was the easiest one out of all of them.

week 8 term 3 inquiry

this week we have been doing environmental studies and I have choose to do renewable energy.

and it was a fun topic to study this term.

so I had to do a advertisement and I did a Canva video and I can choose to be in buddies or not so I did not choose to be buddies so I did the video all by myself and I did some things to that video about non-renewable energy and renewable energy so I did it so here is my video.

I liked this task because I liked this study.

THE COMMENTARY TEXT DESCRIPTION: the highlights of the men’s alpine skiing in Beijing 2022 winter Olympics.

THE CHALLENGE TEXT DESCRIPTION: about the sport of alpine skiing.

this week we have got some journal books that are all PDF and they are all winter Olympics book.

the journals for this week was:

Alpine skiing

biathlon

bobsleigh

curling

figure skating

ice hockey

the book I choose was alpine skiing and I liked that book because ti is about skiing.

create tasks:

create task 1:

you had to make a copy of either a story map or a flow chart, the story map is for journals that are a story and the flow chart is for the books that are articles, so my story was a article so I made a copy of a flow chart so here is my work.

I liked this task because it is like a fact file.

 

create task 2:

you had to choose one of these to do on a DLO:

and I choose to do Examine and I had to choose a DLO of my choice so I used Canva and I did a Canva video so here is my work.

I did not like this create task because it was hard to find the rules of it.

I liked this create task because it is like a fact file.

the one I choose was questionnaire and  I can choose any DLO and I choose to use a Google doc so here is my work.

 

I liked doing the questionnaire but not the other tasks so I liked this task and the other ones look hard for me though.

and I choose to do design so I had to design a uniform of  your journal sport and my book was about the bobsleigh so I made a bobsleigh uniform on Canva and here is my work.

I liked this task because I liked designing the uniform and I liked the design of bobsleigh.

this blog post is going to be all about my inquiry slideshow.

this is the last post of the inquiry slideshow for this term because we are on the final task on inquiry, and we are going to be moving on to a different topic.

today we were working on our athlete avatar on our slideshow, we had to choose a country and a athletics for the sport. I choose to do Michael peter, and he only won 2 medals for the sport I choose speed skating. so I had to make a copy of a slideshow and here is my work.

today this blog post is going to be about my narrative writing based on a picture prompt

I am with miss Lee for writing and I have been doing some narrative writing,

task we had to do:

we started off with a basic one than we had to choose a picture prompt of our choice and we had to write our own narrative and I choose a underwater city and I had to write it on a google doc and I had to hook the reader in the story so they will be interested in it and I also added some sound but it was words, so here is my work.
